Devin is looking for fights with the highest possible purse
Title holder WBC junior welterweight Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) said he wants to fight in the welterweight division next.
“I want to talk to my father and see what happens next. But, you know, I want to fight at 147 pounds. There are a lot of big fights at 140 pounds. But I, you know, want to make the biggest, best fights in boxing.”
“I became the undisputed champion at 135 pounds, I made history. But now I want to make the biggest fights and make as much money as possible, to be honest.”
Haney, in his last fight, convincingly defeated Regis Prograis by unanimous decision to win the WBC junior welterweight belt (140 pounds or 63.5 kg). Devin dominated the former champion, winning every round of the fight.
Haney previously vacated his lightweight belt (135 pounds). The WBC made special permission to change divisions for the title fight with Prograis.
