The Swede’s fight with the ex-world champion will take place on December 23
Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin shared his opinion about his upcoming fight against the former world champion Anthony Joshua. He noted that the British boxer feels unsure of his abilities after defeats from Andy Ruiz and Oleksandr Usik.
“I think now is the perfect time to fight AJ. He was a guy who found a target and destroyed it, a very aggressive fighter. Joshua had a very short amateur career when he started. He knocked out his opponents. When Joshua turned pro, he knocked everyone out too. He knocked out Vladimir Klitschko. I think he felt almost invulnerable.”
“Then Joshua lost to Ruiz, he got pinched. He lost to Usyk twice. I think Joshua now knows he’s vulnerable. He knows that he can lose, that he can be shocked, and he doesn’t like it. Joshua doesn’t like to get hit or take damage. He is very worried about what people think of him. I think Joshua has a hard time being criticized or being booed by the crowd. I think he’s taking it very hard.”
The Joshua-Wallin fight will take place on December 23 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The contract for the fight contains the option of revenge.
Joshua knocked out Robert Helenius in his last fight, which took place on August 12 in London. Wallin has won six in a row since his only career loss to Fury, defeating Murat Gassiev in his last fight.
