The former absolute world champion does not consider the “Gypsy King” to be the favorite in the fight with the Ukrainian
Former absolute world champion in two weight categories Evander Holyfield does not consider the WBC title holder Tyson Fury favorite in the fight with the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO champion Alexander Usik.
“It is not true. There are things he doesn’t do very well – he doesn’t fight very well at close range, no one is in a hurry to throw punches at him. This will be seen when he fights Usyk.”
“Usyk is a good fighter, he has fast hands, he can fight inside, he can fight outside, so you will see a big difference. To always win, you need to be a real fighter.”
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
