Magomed Kurbanov beat former WBO champion Patrick Teixeira in Yekaterinburg

WBO International junior middleweight belt holder Magomed Kurbanov of Russia defeated former WBO world champion Brazilian Patrick Teixeira in the main event of the RCC Boxing Promotions tournament on Saturday in Yekaterinburg by unanimous decision in a bout in ten rounds. Teixeira was knocked down in the first round.

It was the third attempt to organize this duel. Initially, the boxers were supposed to meet last December, but the fight did not take place due to the illness of the Russian. In March, the fight did not take place due to sanctions from international organizations.

Magomed Kurbanov, who last entered the ring in May 2021, earned his 23rd victory at the professional level. Teixeira has four losses with 31 wins. Moreover, the Brazilian’s losing streak is now three fights.

In the co-main event of the show, the Russian Pavel Silyagin entered the ring – the WBC silver champion and the first ranking number of this organization in the second middleweight, where the Mexican Saul Alvarez is a champion fully fledged. In a ten-round duel, the Russian beat Mexican Jose de Jesus Macias by unanimous decision of the judges.

Now Silyagin has eleven victories in the professional ring.
