The world light heavyweight boxing champion according to WBC, WBO and IBF, the Russian Artur Beterbiev, believes that his fight with his compatriot and holder of the championship belt in the WBA light heavyweight category, Dmitry Bivol, will not did not take place through the fault of the latter. Both Russians are currently undefeated boxers.
“The Beterbiev-Bivol fight is not postponed because of this fight with Arthur. I had planned a fight with Callum Smith for a long time. Bivol hasn’t boxed for a whole year. If he had wanted to, he could have fought with me a long time ago.”, said Beterbiev, quoted by “Championship”.
On December 23, Dmitry Bivol will fight alongside Briton Lyndon Arthur. Dmitry’s WBA championship belt will be on the line. In the professional ring, Bivol has 21 victories in 21 fights.
Beterbiev has 19 victories in 19 fights. Arthur will face Callum Smith on January 14, 2024.
