On Saturday the “Day of Reckoning” show will take place in Riyadh, and in February there will be a fight for the title of absolute world champion in heavyweight
Famous promoter Frank Warren stated that in the future he expects to hold Saudi Arabia a significant number of large boxing matches.
“The Saudi market has become a good place for boxing and I believe that next year and beyond you will see big fights here regularly. There is no doubt about it.”
“This event on Saturday is the biggest event I’ve been involved in in terms of number of top fights in one night. “The situation will get better and better, and next year we will start with the first heavyweight unification fight in the 21st century, with four belts on the line with Tyson and Usyk.”
“Everything is possible here. There is a will for this to happen. Not just for heavyweights, but for all fighters. This is a huge opportunity for people. There’s just a huge interest here in creating and hosting innovative events.”
Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, will host the largest Day of Reckoning event on Saturday. The final event of the evening will be the fight between Anthony Joshua and Otto Wallin. Before that, there will be another headlining fight between Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker.
Riyadh will also host a fight between WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC title holder Tyson Fury. The fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion is scheduled for February 17.
