Double Olympic boxing champion Alexey Tishchenko commenting on ‘s victory Dmitri Bivol against the British Lyndon Arthur, expressed the hope that the Russian will have competitive rivals in the future.
Bivol defeated Arthur and defended the world champion belt according to the World Boxing Association (WBA) in the light heavyweight division, and also won the title according to the International Boxing Organization (IBO). The fight took place on Saturday in Riyadh and lasted 12 rounds. Bivol won by unanimous decision (120:107 – all three judges).
— It is not always possible to end fights earlier than expected. The most important thing is that there is a victory. I would like more competitive opponents for Dmitry, championship fights. Our champions now are Artur Beterbiev and Bivol, it would be interesting to watch (their fight), but I don’t want our two boxers to meet,” Tishchenko told .
Bivol has not suffered a single defeat in the professional ring: the 33-year-old Russian has won 22 victories (11 by knockout).
