The Briton managed to knock out Jarrell Miller in Saudi Arabia
British Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KO) commented on his victory over Jarrell Miller (26-1-1, 22 KOs) as part of the Judgment Day boxing evening, which took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“It was a step in the right direction. I needed to not only show everyone what I was capable of, but also prove a lot to myself. That’s what was important. I needed it. We wanted to knock out my opponent and trained for that. I’m glad everything worked out.”
“We had a good chat with Miller after the fight. I think I have a friend for life now, but we’re moving on. There were a lot of things going on in my life and head that I needed to deal with. The Jarrell fight was part of that process. We needed to win and we did it.”
Miller and Dubois alternated possession of the lead. In the 10th round, Dubois “caught” his opponent and a few seconds before the gong, the referee stopped the fight, awarding an early victory to the British.
Before the fight with Jarrell, Daniel had a fight with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in Wroclaw at the Tarczynski Arena. In the ninth round, the WBA/WBO/IBO/IBF world heavyweight champion managed to knock out Dubois.
