Froch: I want the titles to come back to the UK. But now I think Usyk will win

The ex-world champion believes that the psychological advantage belongs to the Ukrainian

Former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch suggested why, in his opinion, the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO champion Alexander Usik will defeat the WBC title holder Tyson Fury in the upcoming fight for the absolute title.

“2024 will be fantastic. I hope there will be a fight between Tyson Fury and Usyk soon. I choose Usik only because of the psychological state Tyson Fury is in.”

“Hopefully Tyson Fury can have a good training camp and recapture some of his former greatness when he fought Deontay Wilder three times. He looked good, but he looked different every time. But I don’t know where it all went. He is struggling to lose weight. He doesn’t seem motivated enough. When he fought Ngannou, he looked confused. Did he age overnight?

“I hope he comes back and does his job because I want these titles to come back to the UK. But at the moment I think Usyk will win this fight.”

Previously, Froch suggested that it would be extremely difficult for the “Gypsy King” to get in shape after the New Year holidays.

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that Tyson would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
