Former champion Carl Froch shares his thoughts on the fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion.
Alexander Usik will receive the title of absolute world heavyweight boxing champion. So says Carl Froch. According to the former champion, the Ukrainian will defeat the holder of the WBC belt because of Fury’s not the best psychological state.
It is becoming increasingly difficult for the Briton to prepare for fights each time, so he does not look too good against Ngannou.
“2024 will be a year of the most incredible opportunities. I hope that in the near future it will be crowned by the fight between Tyson Fury and Usik. In this fight, I prefer Alexander as the favorite because of the psychological that was Fury’s state.
Hopefully Tyson will have a good training camp and regain at least some of his former glory like when he fought Deontay Wilder three times. He is a great person, who shows himself at every opportunity. This is not the case today.
Fury can hardly lose weight and appears to have no motive. In the fight with Ngannou, he seemed to be discouraged. Maybe Fury suddenly aged? But I still hope he shows himself and does everything right, because I want the titles back in the UK. But this time I think Usyk will win,” Froch told talkSPORT Boxing.
We remind you that the fight between Usik and Fury is scheduled for February 17 next year.
Previously, Joshua’s promoter called for Fury’s support against Usik.
