Deontay Wilder says he has no plans to retire

American boxer Deontay Wilder said he would not end his professional career after losing to Joseph Parker at a tournament in Riyadh, and noted that he insisted on a fight with the Briton Antoine Joshua .

Parker defeated Wilder in Saudi Arabia on December 24. The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with the victory of the New Zealander by unanimous decision. Former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder has lost three of his last four fights. The boxer said he didn’t know if he would return to the ring after Parker’s defeat.

“Joshua doesn’t want to fight me. Did you see how happy he was after my defeat? He said he thought it was pointless to fight with me. I need to rediscover my killer instinct. “I’m too calm and happy, but when I was confident in myself, not a single opponent had a chance,” Wilder told the Daily Mail with reference to 78SPORTSTV.

Wilder, 38, has 43 victories (42 by KO), one draw and three defeats.

ESPN previously reported that Joshua and Wilder had reached an agreement for a March 9, 2024 fight in Riyadh.
