Russian fighter Anatoly Malykhin will fight against current ONE middleweight champion Rainier de Ridder, the promotion’s press service reports.
The fight will take place on March 1, 2024 at the ONE 166 tournament in Qatar. If he wins, the 35-year-old Russian will become the first fighter in MMA history to hold championship belts in three weight classes simultaneously. Malykhin is the ONE light heavyweight and heavyweight champion.
De Ridder already met Malykhin in a title fight in the light heavyweight category in December 2022, then the Russian fighter won by knockout. The 33-year-old Dutchman’s professional record is 16 wins and 1 loss. Malykhin, undefeated, has 13 victories.
