The Ukrainian world champion under the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles still remembers the words of his parents.
Alexander Usik still remembers the advice he received from his father, who died in 2012. The Ukrainian WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion gave an interview to CGTN Sports Scene where he mentioned the words he heard from his father when he was young.
“Many people have asked me what I want to be when I grow up. One day I came home and asked my father: “Listen, what do you want me to be?” He answered: “First of all, you have to be a good, normal person. And then you can achieve for yourself everything you dream of,” said the boxer.
Usik Sr. died. in 2012 due to a heart attack. The boxer’s father managed to see his son’s success at the 2012 Olympics in London, but, as Alexander himself said, he did not wait to personally congratulate him on his success at the Games.
Let’s remember that earlier Roy Jones gave advice to Usyk on how to beat Fury.
