Early victory for a Russian fighter Islam Makhacheva in the second fight with Australian Alex Volkanovski, she was recognized as the best knockout in the UFC in 2023 according to Sportskeeda.

In 2023, 32-year-old Makhachev made two successful title defenses and rose to first place in the rankings of the best UFC fighters, regardless of weight category.
In February, in the first fight with Volkanovski, the Russian won by unanimous decision.
Makhachev has 25 victories and one defeat. He is a double Russian champion (2014, 2016) and winner of the combat sambo world championship (2016).
