The Swede refused to continue the fight after the 5th round
Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin (26–2, 11 KO) commented on the defeat in a head-to-head fight with the ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (27–3, 23 KOs).
“I’m fine. Of course I’m disappointed that I lost the fight, but that’s life. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. So I’m trying to move on. Before the fight I felt good, I was confident. I thought I had a good chance of winning. Naturally, I took it very seriously. I know he’s one of the best in our division.”
“I really don’t have any excuses. I think he just turned out better. Joshua performed very well, used his reach well, hit me with good shots. Yes, he was simply better.”
“He was hitting me with good body shots. Of course, I’m always prepared for that, but I think they had a good game plan. I didn’t watch the fight, but Joshua seemed like a very good fighter. Of course, this fight was much harder than with Fury. He performed very well. Joshua may have found his place with Ben Davison.”
Joshua confidently defeated Wallin at the “Day of Reckoning” boxing evening in Saudi Arabia. The Swede refused to continue the fight after the 5th round.
After the fight, the Swede was taken to a hospital in Saudi Arabia. Wallin was diagnosed with a broken nose.
