The New Zealand boxer’s promoter has revealed his protégé’s desire to meet the world champion.
Joseph Parker wants to meet Oleksandr Usyk in his next fight. After scoring the upset of the year by beating Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia, the New Zealander now has his sights set on the world champion.
Parker’s promoter David Giggins believes his protégé can beat the Ukrainian if such a fight takes place.
“If a fight with Usyk can be arranged, then I am sure that Joseph will take advantage of this opportunity. It will be a cool fight and I think that Parker can win,” the Sky Sports functionary quotes.
He also commented on his ward’s performance against Wilder.
“We’re happy with how everything turned out, Joseph gave a great performance under incredible pressure. He can be proud of himself. Parker definitely shut the mouths of the skeptics, those who anymore believed in him.”
Let’s remember that a former famous trainer explained the reason for Wilder’s failure in the fight with Parker.
