Prominent promoter and Top Rank President Todd Duboeuf is confident that the boxers will meet twice in the ring.
Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury could have not one, but two fights, meeting after the first fight in a rematch. Top Rank President Todd Duboeuf thinks so.
The well-known promoter also named the main condition for the second fight. Boxers are in the ring for a second time if they show an impressive performance in the first fight.
“I’m not a big fan of rematches. It takes away the prize from the first fight. The rematch clause is a new aspect that has become popular in the last decade and a half, but we have to admit that now they are putting clauses of rematch contracts and it is becoming common.
We will have a special moment in February when the absolute world super heavyweight champion will be determined. We are talking about two of the best heavyweights in the world who will hopefully give us an incredible fight. If so, of course they deserve the rematch. I hope they fight that everyone wants to see them rematch,” Duboeuf told Sky Sports.
We remind you that the fight between Usik and Fury is scheduled for February 17 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Earlier, Roy Jones gave advice to Usyk on how to beat Fury.
