Athletistic / Boxing. Legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has announced an imminent rematch with American Floyd Mayweather. This will happen 10 years after their first fight.
“Thank you very much for inviting me again to Rizin 45. It’s a shame that we didn’t have time to fight last year, as Mr. Sakakibara explained. But in 2025 in Japan, there will be a big fight with Floyd Mayweather! I thought you wouldn’t want me to announce it. But I’m very happy about it,” Pacquiao was quoted as saying by Sherdog.
On December 31, Manny Pacquiao attended Rizin 45 in Japan. At the event, Rizin CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara invited Manny to the ring and asked the Filipino if he would fight Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao accepted this proposal.
Manny Pacquiao was named best boxer of the year three times by The Ring. The 45-year-old Filipino became professional world champion in six weight categories. He has 72 fights in the professional ring – 62 victories, 8 defeats and two draws.
The first fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather took place on May 2, 2015. Then the American won by unanimous decision.
