The Briton lost twice to the Ukrainian world champion
Former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua believes that the champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO Alexander Usik will be able to defeat the WBC title holder in heavyweight Tyson Fury.
“I don’t know. I fought with Usyk. I think he’s a phenomenal fighter and I think he has a great team around him. You are only as good as your team and the great people around you. After being in the ring with him and studying him, still watching him now, I think he’s the one who can win.”
Joshua fought the Ukrainian boxer twice. Anthony lost his championships in the first fight with Alexander, and then lost in the rematch.
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that Tyson would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
