Joshua will fight Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on March 9

Previously, AJ’s fight with Deontay Wilder was planned for this date.

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua his next fight will be with the former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in the capital of Saudi Arabia Riyadh.

“Tonight we confirm that the job is done! Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou will collide in boxing’s biggest night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Press conference January 15th in London, full details coming soon,” wrote Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

It is reported that the fight will take place 9th of March. The Briton’s fight with Deontay Wilder was scheduled for this date before the American lost to Joseph Parker. Hearn stated that the fight with Wilder is dead because Deontay is no longer at the level he was previously.

At the end of December, Joshua confidently defeated Otto Wallin, who refused to continue the fight after the 5th round, as part of the “Day of Reckoning”. Anthony stated that he was ready to fight the next fight with anyone.

Ngannou lost a decision to WBC champion Tyson Fury in his only boxing fight. The Cameroonian made a good impression against the current champion title holder, knocking down the “Gypsy King” and inflicting several cuts on the Briton.
