UFC chief Dana White announced the fight on social media. According to him, this fight will be a challenger fight. Thus, the winner of the fight will challenge for the championship belt belonging to Russian Islam Makhachev in the UFC lightweight division.

The fight will take place over three rounds. The UFC 300 tournament will take place in Las Vegas (USA) on April 13.

Tsarukyan has had 24 MMA fights in his career. He had 21 victories and three defeats.
