The former UFC champion noted that he is improving as a boxer
Former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou said he intends to knock out the former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
“Nobody still knows what I’m capable of. Fury was my first boxing fight. Just like anyone else, I’m just improving, and the difference in improvement for a newbie like me is huge.”
“I think I will most likely knock out Anthony Joshua. I think he’s easier to beat than Fury. “He’s a very strong fighter, but he’s easier to knock down than Tyson and it’s going to be harder for him to get back up.”
“Joshua looked amazing in his last fight, congratulations to him. He did his job properly. He had speed, he looked very sharp.”
“But on the other hand, I think there was no answer in front of him. I won’t give him such comfortable positions and situations. Everything will change, everything will be different. I’m going to throw some bombs there that he’ll remember.”
Earlier, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn announced that Joshua would fight Ngannou next in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The official press conference dedicated to the event will be held on January 15 in London.
The fight is expected to take place on March 9. Anthony’s fight with Deontay Wilder was scheduled for this date before the American lost to Joseph Parker. Hearn stated that the fight with Wilder is dead because Deontay is no longer at the level he was previously.
Ngannou lost a decision to WBC champion Tyson Fury in his only boxing fight. The Cameroonian made a good impression against the current champion title holder, knocking down the “Gypsy King” and inflicting several cuts on the Briton.
