Currently, Emelianenko is in Saudi Arabia and has already visited the second holiest city of Muslims, Medina. After that, rumors spread on the Internet that Alexander had converted to Islam.
“As far as I know, Emelianenko has not converted to Islam. He is a believing Christian. He has a rosary – you saw it – he reads his prayer. There is a Bible in his rehabilitation . He knows,” quotes Sport-Expres. Gazgiriev said.
In June 2023, it became known that Lom-Ali Gazgiriev had brought Alexander Emelianenko to Ingushetia for rehabilitation. The fighter stayed there for seven months and struggled with his alcohol addiction.
Emelianenko fought his last MMA fight in May 2023 at the REN TV Fight Club tournament. His opponent was blogger Evgeny Ershov. As a result, Emelianenko won by submission in the second round. In total, Alexandre has 28 victories, nine defeats and one draw.
