A Chinese super heavyweight boxer wants to fight a former world champion.
Zhang Zhilei talked about a possible fight with Deontay Wilder. Note that this fight is planned to take place on the undercard of the meeting between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou on March 8 in Saudi Arabia.
According to the interim WBO heavyweight champion, he would gladly meet the American, as he considers him a unique athlete.
“I didn’t know about this fight until I talked to my team yesterday. When it comes to Wilder, I give him all the credit in the world. He’s such a big fighter. He won a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics.”
When he turned pro, he got all these great knockouts and he was a great fighter. I am ready to fight Wilder and it will be a great event for boxing.
I will agree to this fight now. The ball will be in his court very soon, so we’ll see what happens,” Boxing Social quoted Zhilley as saying.
We remind you that Ngannou promised to knock out Joshua in a fight in Saudi Arabia.
