Former coach of 2016 Olympic boxing medalist arrested: ‘I don’t believe Nikitin will go to anyone to extort money’

Chairman of the Coaching Council of the Russian Boxing Federation and former coach of the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Vladimir Nikitin Eduard Kravtsov told he couldn’t believe an athlete could extort money.

Previously, the press service of the Syktyvkar City Court reported on the detention of Nikitin, arrested on charges of extortion of 300,000 rubles. The 33-year-old athlete will remain in detention until February 23.

For his outstanding sporting achievements, Nikitin was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Master of Sports of Russia”, as well as the medal “For Services to the Fatherland” of the second degree.
