British boxer Antoine Joshua held the first joint press conference with a French MMA fighter Francis Ngannou before their face-to-face meeting according to boxing rules.
Broadcast on DAZN, it was confirmed live that the fight would take place on March 8 in Saudi Arabia.
During the press conference, the fighters also had a symbolic duel of views.
Ngannou, 37, fought for the first time and so far only under boxing rules, in October 2023. He lost to British WBC world champion Tyson Fury in 10 rounds by split decision. Former heavyweight champion Ngannou had his last UFC fight in January 2022, defeating Cyril Gan by unanimous decision. In total, the Frenchman has 17 victories and three defeats in MMA.
Joshua, 34, has 27 victories, including 24 by knockout, and three defeats in the professional ring, including two against Ukrainian Alexander Usik. Joshua is the 2012 Olympic champion, former world champion according to WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO.
