44-year-old Vakh had already helped Alexander earlier in preparation for Dubois
The sparring partners of the world champion under versions WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO have become known Alexandra Usikahelping him prepare for the fight with the holder of the WBC championship belt Tyson Fury.
This is not the first time an experienced Pole helps a Ukrainian Mariusz Wach (38-10, 20 KOs), who worked with Alexander during 2023.
Also on Usik’s team is a compatriot Vladimir Katsuk (5-1, 2 KO), Serbian Sanel Hasanovic (7-1-1, 6 KOs) and German Emanuel Odiase (1-0, 1 KO). They are all tall and big guys.
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that Tyson would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
