Athletistic/MMA. Former UFC champion in two weight categories, American fighter Daniel Cormier, a member of the promotion’s Hall of Fame, said that the organization’s management made great efforts to bring back Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov in this sport. The former UFC lightweight champion turned down the huge sum offered to him.

“Khabib told us that at one point he turned down $40 million to come back to the UFC. I don’t know how many fights he was talking about, I don’t know what kind of event he was talking about. Nurmagomedov simply said: ‘I turned down $40 million, bro, I’m finally done,’” Cormier said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has 29 victories in 29 MMA fights, including 13 victories in UFC. Khabib fought his last fight in October 2020, when he defeated Justin Gaethje at the UFC 254 tournament held in Dubai (UAE). Immediately after the fight, the Russian announced his professional retirement. And on January 7, 2023, it became known that at that time the Russian, still 34 years old, was completely leaving the MMA industry.
