Joe Joyce: Fury throws fewer punches than Usyk, but he has a fast jab

Usik’s fight with Fury will take place on February 17

Former interim WBO heavyweight world champion Joe Joyce commented on the fight for the title absolute world heavyweight champion between the world champion according to WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO Alexander Usik and holder of the WBC championship belt Tyson Fury.

“Fury is bigger. He may try to lean on his opponent, make a mess and end up getting knocked out. Tyson throws fewer punches than Usyk, but he has longer arms, a quick jab and all that. Usyk will try to close the distance.”

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that Tyson would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Both boxers are actively preparing for a head-to-head confrontation. In the Ukrainian camp are compatriot Vladimir Katsuk, Serbian Sanel Hasanovic, German Emanuel Odiase and experienced Pole Mariusz Wach.

The undercard of the Usyk-Fury fight will feature former IBF world cruiserweight champion Jay Opetaya, 19-year-old Moses Ithauma and IBF world super featherweight champion Joe Cordina.
