On January 20 at 16:00 in the Kiev Sports Palace there will be an “All-Ukrainian Charity Boxing Evening” from SPARTABOX and the general partner of the event FAVBET. The main event of the evening will be the fight for the WBF world title between Ukrainian Aram Fanian and Mexican Francisco Mercado.
For Fanian, this will be the first fight in Ukraine in 2.5 years. The last time the Ukrainian boxed in front of his native audience was on July 30, 2021, when he defeated the representative of Uzbekistan, Muhammadsalim Sotvoldiev, in Lviv.
The fight for the WBF title will be a fight for the fourth belt in Fanian’s professional career. Previously, he fought for the WBC Youth Silver, WBO Oriental and IBO International titles. Francisco Mercado is the fourth opponent from Mexico in the Ukrainian’s career. Now Fanian’s score in the confrontation with the Mexicans is 2:1 in his favor.
On the eve of the fight, Francisco Mercado announced that he was going to Kyiv to pick up the title. Moreover, he does not consider any other option for ending the fight other than a knockout.
Aram Faniyan was preparing for a fight in Kyiv. The boxer worked under the guidance of coach Vladimir Khodakovsky. It is interesting that at the same time as Fanian, the specialist was preparing our Ukrainian Artem Dalakyan to defend the world champion belt, which will take place in Japan.
In the Faniyan-Mercado undercard, spectators can expect 6 more spectacular fights, including the debut in professional boxing of the silver medalist of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and boxer of the Ukrainian national team Taras Bondarchuk.
The host of the evening will be ring announcer and long-time voice of boxing in Ukraine Sergei Bryl. Guests will be entertained by star artists Kozak Siromakha, Svetlana Tarabarova and Alena Omargalieva.
