On January 19, Tuvan Kara-ool Changy of the Kyzyl Red Eagles delivered an exciting fight at the legendary Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok. At the end of the second round, from a side control position, he worked his elbows so powerfully that doctors prohibited him from continuing the fight.
Fans expected that 26-year-old Kara-ool Changy, who previously represented Russia at the World Wushu Sanda Championship, would prefer to fight standing. However, he showed excellent work both on the hands and on the ground. Kara-ool Changy dominated throughout the first and second rounds, effectively dodging punches from Filipino opponent Arsenio Balisacan and demonstrating great wrestling skills. Early in the fight, the Filipino shocked Changy with a right hand, but he failed to surprise Tuvan with anything else. From the third minute of the first round, he put his opponent on the canvas and moved to the hard ground. The Filipino managed to get up, but Kara-ool caught him with a knee to the chin. After several tense moments in the corner, the opponents exchanged standing positions and, in the final minute, Kara-ool managed to knock his opponent to the ground again. He showed not only good control, but also the ability to deliver clear blows from the mount, for which he received several additional points from the judges.
In the second round, Balisacan was cautious, the opponents worked for a long time on the ropes, trying to bring the fight to the ground. In the final third of the round, Kara-ool attempted a takedown, but Balisakan grabbed the ropes. But it didn’t help and the last minute of the fight took place on the canvas. Kara-ool showed excellent side control and in the final seconds of the fight, he rained elbows down on his opponent.
After the second round, a doctor appeared in the ring and decided to stop the fight. The judge in the ring stopped the fight, and the Russian won by technical knockout in the second round.
Kara-ool Changy maintained a clean record, bringing his number of professional MMA victories to five.
