Four-time champion of Russia, finalist of the 2017 European Championship and 2019 European Games, participant in the 2020 Olympic Games and 2023 World Championship Gabil Mamedov was recognized as the best boxer of the Russian Cup which ended on Saturday in Samara.
Mamedov became the winner of the Russian Cup in the weight category up to 63.5 kg.
The winner of the Russian Cup in the weight category up to 80 kg, Beshto Shavlaev, was awarded in the category “Best tactical skill”. The prize “For the will to win” was awarded to Sergei Koldenkov, who lost to Igor Sviridchenkov by split decision in the final in the weight category up to 71 kg.
During this tournament, the composition of the national team which will participate in international competitions in 2024 was determined.
