Mixed martial artist representing the United Arab Emirates Khamzat Chimaev called on the head CFU Dana White back his words with actions and arrange a title fight for him.
South African Dricus Du Plessis defeated American Sean Strickland on Saturday at UFC 297 in Toronto (Canada) to win the championship belt. After the end of the fight, Chimaev expressed on social networks his desire to fight the South African at the UFC 300 tournament, which will be held in April.
“They promised me that after the fight with Usman I would definitely fight for the title. I won this fight, so I don’t know what’s going on. I heard Dana White say, “I don’t think Khamzat will be next to win the title.” This is bullshit, man. If you promise me something, you must answer for it.
In my opinion, it should be me. “I asked UFC business manager Hunter Campbell to let me fight at UFC 300. We’ll see what they say,” Chimaev said, as quoted by ESPN.
Du Plessis has 21 victories in MMA with two defeats, Chimaev has won all 13 fights.
