Arum: Usyk is a smart and fearless fighter, this will be a big test for Fury

The promoter expects an exciting fight for the undisputed title

Head of the promotion company Top Rank Bob Arum expects an exciting fight for the undisputed title between the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexander Usik and WBC belt holder Tyson Fury.

“Let’s be honest. Look at Fury’s last fight with Ngannou, either Tyson really wasn’t ready for this fight or he lost his level. This happens with older fighters. “I really believe the first thing – that Fury didn’t prepare as well as he should have against Ngannou, who has what it takes to become a force in the heavyweight division.”

“I really believe Fury vs Usyk will be exciting. Usik is a very smart fighter. He prepares very well. He is fearless. This will be a very big test for Fury. Tyson knows this. He prepared hard for the fight.”

Earlier, the coach of ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou, Dewey Cooper, expressed hope that Fury would defeat the Ukrainian. Cooper believes that “The Gypsy King” will be able to succeed through dirty and raw action.

The Usyk-Fury fight will officially take place on February 17. The title of absolute heavyweight champion will be at stake. The fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou is planned to take place in the capital of Saudi Arabia on March 8.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
