Lewis will represent the WBC at the fight for the title of absolute world champion
Legendary former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis will be the guest of honor at the upcoming undisputed title fight between the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexander Usik. Lewis will be the WBC official at the event.
Lennox retired from professional sports in 2003. In the last fight, the Briton defeated Vitali Klitschko by technical knockout in the sixth round. In fact, Lewis is the last undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
The Usyk-Fury fight will officially take place on February 17. The title of absolute heavyweight champion will be at stake. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Both boxers are actively preparing for a head-to-head confrontation. In the Ukrainian camp are compatriot Vladimir Katsuk, Serbian Sanel Hasanovic, German Emanuel Odiase and experienced Pole Mariusz Wach.
The undercard of the Usyk-Fury fight will feature former IBF world cruiserweight champion Jay Opetaya, 19-year-old Moses Ithauma and IBF world super featherweight champion Joe Cordina.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
