At the XXXVth Cup Ivan Iarygina which started in Krasnoyarsk, the first finalists of the men’s and women’s freestyle wrestling tournament were determined.
On the first day, semi-final fights took place in weight categories up to 57, 61, 70 kg for men, as well as in weight categories up to 50, 55, 59, 65 kg for the women.
Men’s Ivan Yarygin Cup finalists:
Up to 57 kg: Zaur Uguev — Moussa Mehtikhanov;
Up to 61 kg: Abasgadzhi Magomedov – Muslim Mehtikhanov;
Up to 70 kg: Inalbek Sheriev – Kurban Shiraev.
Women’s Ivan Yarygin Cup finalists:
Up to 50 kg: Munkbat Munkbat (Mongolia) – Maria Tyumerekova;
Up to 55 kg: Khulan Bathuyag – Otgontuya Bayanmunkh (both – Mongolia);
Up to 59 kg: Anastasia Sidelnikova – Sumiya Erdenechimeg (Mongolia);
Up to 65 kg: Amina Tandelova – Dinara Kudaeva.
The final matches of these categories will take place on Friday January 26. Before the final, the tournament will host an opening ceremony.
The Ivan Yarygin Cup takes place from January 25 to 28 at the Ivan Yarygin Sports Palace in Krasnoyarsk. In 2024, the tournament prize fund amounts to 7 million rubles.
