Boxer Stotsky hospitalized with minor leg injuries after attack; his health is not in danger

Russian boxing champion Andrei Stotsky is hospitalized with minor leg injuries after being shot by unknown assailants on the street in Chelyabinsk; the athlete’s health is not in danger, the press service of the Boxing Federation of the Chelyabinsk region reported.

Previously, the SHOT Telegram channel reported that unknown persons, after a verbal altercation and a street fight, fired about 20 shots at 28-year-old Stotsky.

— Last night, in Chelyabinsk, Andrei Stotsky was attacked. He is currently hospitalized with minor leg injuries. The athlete’s health is not in danger. After consulting doctors, Andrei must go to training with the national boxing team of the Chelyabinsk region. The athlete must recover and spend several weeks in the Elbrus region, getting in shape for the upcoming season. “We wish Andrey a quick return to the training process,” the Chelyabinsk Boxing Federation said in a statement.

Stotsky is Russian champion in 2021, winner of the junior world champion belt in 2012. The boxer’s statistics in the amateur ring are 40 victories and 13 defeats. At the professional level, Stotsky fought four fights and won them all.
