Even Tyson’s unconvincing performance against Ngannou did not prompt the Croatian to change his forecast
Croatian heavyweight boxer Alen Babich made a prediction for the upcoming fight for the undisputed title between the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexander Usik.
“This is a fight I will definitely watch. Who do I think will win? It’s very difficult to say. I see Fury training harder than ever. I was at one of his training camps. I know he spar very hard four times a week. This is serious work.”
“I said before that Fury would win. I think I’ll stick to my opinion. I still bet on Fury, even after everything that happened,” Babic said.
The Usyk-Fury fight will officially take place on February 17. The title of absolute heavyweight champion will be at stake. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Both boxers are actively preparing for a head-to-head confrontation. In the Ukrainian camp are compatriot Vladimir Katsuk, Serbian Sanel Hasanovic, German Emanuel Odiase and experienced Pole Mariusz Wach. The “Gypsy King” is assisted in preparation by 19-year-old Moses Itauma, Kevin Lerena, Alexis Barrier, as well as Agron Smakichi and Elvir Sendro.
The undercard of the Usyk-Fury fight will feature former IBF cruiserweight world champion Jay Opetaya, the aforementioned Ithauma and IBF super featherweight world champion Joe Cordina.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
Fury previously defeated Francis Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
