Athletistic/ MMA. Former mixed martial arts fighter Daniel Cormier will try his hand at acting by playing one of the roles in the “Warrior” series.
The serial drama is based on the 2011 film of the same name, starring Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy. Filmmaker Gavin O’Connor will serve as showrunner and director for the upcoming 10 episodes of the series.
Daniel Cormier will star as an MMA fighter who has won championship titles in two weight classes. In the story, Cormier’s character recently retired, his wife died of cancer, and he remained a single father with huge medical debts.
Cormier retired in 2020 and has since maintained his own YouTube channel and also worked as a commentator for ESPN. The role in “Warrior” will be Daniel’s first acting job.
