Coach Adam Booth: Usyk has developed as a heavyweight, he can withstand the distance of 12 rounds

The British specialist praises the Ukrainian champion, but at the same time explains why the advantage is on the side of the “Gypsy King”

British coach Adam Booth shared his expectations for the upcoming fight for the undisputed title between the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO versions Alexander Usik.

“Usyk, compared to his debut in the heavyweight division [в октябре 2019 года], has turned into a man who can withstand the load of twelve rounds of distance. Look at his fight with Chisora [октябрь 2020 года] “He struggled to keep up the pace in this fight. But he developed into the heavyweight division.”

“I always preferred Fury because he is so big, so long and at the same time for a person of his size he moves well. If he decides to overwhelm his opponent physically from time to time and try to win dirty while being long and cunning, Usyk will have a tough task ahead of him if Fury goes the right way.”

“This will be an interesting action that will show how Usik adapts to each episode. It’s exciting. This is the best fight in the heavyweight division.”

The Usyk-Fury fight will officially take place on February 17. The title of absolute heavyweight champion will be at stake. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The undercard of the Usyk-Fury fight will feature former IBF world cruiserweight champion Jay Opetaya, 19-year-old Itauma and IBF world super featherweight champion Joe Cordina.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.

Fury previously defeated Francis Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
