A massive fight between teenagers took place during a mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament in the village of Oktyabrskoye in North Ossetia; police are investigating the incident, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania reports.
— The Department of Internal Affairs of the Prigorodny region received information that there was a mixed martial arts tournament among adolescents under 16 years old in the village sports and recreation complex. A fight took place in the Oktyabrskoe Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. When the investigation team arrived on scene, the conflict was resolved and no one was injured.
The police previously established that during the semi-final match, a verbal altercation took place between two representatives of different teams and fans, which escalated into a fight.
Previously, the organizers of the competition had been refused permission to organize the tournament by the competent authorities, in particular due to their absence from the register of officially organized events. However, this warning was ignored.
An investigation into this fact is currently underway. The question of the accountability of the event organizers under Art. 20.32 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Violation of security regulations during official sports competitions,” the press service said in a statement.
The question of bringing the organizers of the event to administrative responsibility is being resolved.
