Athletistic/MMA. Number nine in the UFC heavyweight rankings, Brazilian Jalton Almeida fought with Down syndrome fighter Alvaro Borges in a charity bout. The event took place last weekend in Salvador (Brazil).
Borges took Almeida to the ground and then performed an armbar, which ultimately forced Almeida to surrender. An armbar is a painful technique at the elbow joint, intended to force the opponent to give up. This grip is also known as a “crank lever.”
Jaylton Almeida had 22 fights in his MMA career and had 20 wins with two losses. In his last fight, he beat American Derrick Lewis by unanimous decision. Their fight was the main event of UFC Fight Night 231, which took place on November 4, 2023 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
