Double Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Abdulrashid Sadulayev said he is not considering the possibility of switching to boxing or mixed martial arts (MMA).
Sadulayev took part in the Ivan Yarygin Cup international tournament in Krasnoyarsk. The athlete became the winner in the weight category up to 97 kg.
“I’m not going to turn to boxing or MMA. I carry it with me in case it suddenly comes in handy on the street for self-defense. And so, I’m not going to knock anyone out,” MMA.Metaratings.ru quoted Sadulayev as saying.
Sadulayev won gold at the Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo Games, and the 27-year-old wrestler also has five world championship victories.
