Athletistic / Boxing. Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin has spoken out about the criticism he faces due to his attitude towards UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. Povetkin has previously stated that he does not follow Makhachev’s MMA career.

“I don’t care who is outraged. I will never allow anyone to say bad things about people. The same thing about Islam Makhachev: I know he is a strong fighter, but I don’t look at him. What questions do you have for me? I watched his (victorious) fight against Volkanovski. But I don’t understand the outrage. I just didn’t follow him – I followed the guys I know, for most of them Russian. But I have a lot of friends in Dagestan,” RIA Novosti quotes Povetkin.
