Vice President of the Russian MMA Union Andrei Terentyev told the details of the investigation into the death of an 18-year-old athlete at the mixed martial arts championship of the Kirov region.
Previously, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Kirov region announced that an investigation was underway into the death of a fighter during the competition on January 26. The athlete died from head trauma sustained during a fight. He received first aid, but the victim died in the ambulance.
“We checked everything, listened to the report of the chief judge, the president of the federation. All certificates, regulations and rules were followed. An ambulance and an emergency vehicle were there. It was an accident. We are waiting for the medical examination report. The MMA union provided assistance and the local government helped the family.
