Tyson reportedly needed stitches after sparring
WBC world champion Tyson Fury suffered a serious injury during training. The fight between the British and the holder of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles Alexander Usik postponed
Fury was reportedly injured during sparring. The Briton’s injury required stitches, due to which Tyson does not have time to recover by the date of the fight with Usyk on February 17.
Let us remind you that the fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion was supposed to take place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The special guest of the event was Lennox Lewis. The undercard featured fights between former IBF cruiserweight world champion Jay Opetai, 19-year-old Moses Itauma and IBF super featherweight world champion Joe Cordina.
Let us remember that in the last fight Fury won a hard victory over former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with a Congolese, which is why he postponed the fight with Usyk from December 2023 to February 2024.
