The Briton is again advised to use purely shock boxing against Usyk
Croatian heavyweight boxer Alain Babich advises Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) to return to the power style of fighting in a rematch with the WBA, WBO and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs).
“Joshua needs to change everything. It’s very embarrassing for a champion to be outplayed like he was in the first fight. I like Joshua. A lot of my sparring partners went to his camp and they say he’s a great guy. Joshua knows me, he talked about me, ”Babich said in an interview with the Boxing Social YouTube channel.
“I like Anthony, but if he comes out in such a mood that he has to fight Usyk again, then it will look ridiculous again. Do not box with Usyk, because this guy invented boxing, he lives by it. This is different. You’re not in this class, bro. But you are a powerful puncher. Get back to basics. Use powerful punches and knock this guy out. I know you can’t knock out Usyk, but you can try. Boxing is so good because it’s a battle of styles.”
“Joshua is a puncher, not a techie. It’s like I’m having a tech war with Lomachenko. He will beat me even though I am 50 kg heavier. Don’t do it, run over this guy.”
Earlier, John Fury, the father of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, said that Joshua could have beaten Usyk in the first fight.
The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. The fight will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming platform.
Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
