The former world champion was disappointed with the cancellation of the fight between the Ukrainian and British boxers.

Carl Froch reacted to the postponement of the fight between WBC belt holder Tyson Fury and WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF super heavyweight champion Alexander Usik.

The former world champion also expressed dismay at the date chosen by the organizers to postpone the fight.

“The date they announced was very convenient. Everyone was upset, furious and depressed that this fight for the absolute title wasn’t going to happen. So what were they going to do? They came out with a date of May 18.

Take it with a pinch of salt. They give us something to think about. They give us something to talk about to keep the dream alive and keep all the fans interested.

This date was plucked out of thin air, and I think we’re being paid lip service because it’s impossible to say for sure that the fight will be on May 18. Because we don’t know what Fury is going to do in the next two months or how his eye will heal.

It’s good that they have a date and want more to happen, but to be honest, I’m not happy when I hear it.

Fury showed his best results. I’ve been watching his fights since we talked about the Deontay Wilder fight, when he’s throwing 20-30 combinations per round, bouncing on his toes, throwing combinations, lots of moves.

He’s slowing down now, he’s killing time, and he’s been knocked down four times in the last 70 rounds.

If you look at the statistics and the facts, they don’t lie and I think Tyson Fury is going down,” Froch was quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

We remind you that Usik’s fight with Fury, which was supposed to take place on February 17, was postponed due to the cut Tyson received during sparring with Agron Smakichi. Now the boxers are scheduled to meet in mid-May.

Previously, Froch expressed doubts that fans will see the Usyk-Fury fight.
