Vladimir Kuzmin from Yekaterinburg became the second Russian fighter on the ONE 166: Qatar card

The ONE Championship League has added a fight between Team Archangel Michael fighter Vladimir Kuzmin and former ONE League champion Nong-O to the Malykhin vs. De Ridder card.

Thai fighter Nong-O Khama will take part in the ONE 166: Qatar tournament, which will take place on March 1 at the Lusail Sports Arena in the capital Doha. The fight will take place under Muay Thai rules in the bantamweight division.

Nong-O has won 10 consecutive victories in ONE Championship, including eight consecutive championship victories. He held the title for years, knocking out his last five opponents, eventually losing the gold to current ONE champion Jonathan Haggerty. Nong-O was defeated in his last fight by Nico Carrillo, and now he’ll definitely need to bounce back if he wants another shot at the belt before retiring.

Today, 37-year-old Nong-O sits in second place in the division, and Kuzmin will be a tough test for the Thai legend.

In 2020, Kuzmin won the first Road to ONE qualifying tournament. His record in the league is two wins and two losses. Although Kuzmin was defeated in a fight with Jonathan Haggerty (ONE Muay Thai and kickboxing champion), he managed to put up a competitive fight and kept the Briton in intense tension throughout the fight. He lost his fight against Lumpini champion Maunkkhatai by split decision.

The 26-year-old Kuzmin last entered the ONE ring in November 2023, when, after a tense three-round fight with Portuguese Fabio Riza, the judges gave victory to the Russian.

This fight will be a great addition to the first ONE League card in Qatar, which will feature a variety of championship fights, including the headlining fight of the evening – Anatoly Malykhin and Reiner de Ridder for the world championship ONE Middleweight MMA.
