Oliveira, 32, previously lost the UFC lightweight championship belt after failing to weigh in ahead of his fight with Justin Gaethje at UFC 274, in which he won in the first round via choke submission. The Brazilian tops the UFC rankings in his division.
Makhachev, 30, has 22 wins and one loss in mixed martial arts.
